Our Origins & Growth
Founded in the mid‑2000s by a group of dedicated alumni and community leaders, PAF emerged to address Pontiac’s educational and social challenges, and to support students during a key period of school consolidation .
Over the years, our fundraising efforts have grown significantly—from a modest $4,300 in 2011 to over $60,000 in 2017—highlighting the community’s growing trust and investment in our mission.
Signature Programs
Aviation Initiative
PAF launched a hands-on aviation program that introduced students to flight mechanics, aviation history, and piloting fundamentals—offering them real-world insight and sparking interest in STEAM careers.
Mentorship & Community Engagement
After coverage from the Detroit Free Press and a generous gift from Chrysler, PAF was honored to speak at the Michigan Department of Education regarding its mentorship program. Local attorneys also stepped forward—highlighted in a press release—for their meaningful involvement in guiding students.
Community Engagement
The Pontiac Alumni Foundation is deeply committed to bringing the community together through events like the annual Alumni Block Party during Dream Cruise weekend and the Alumni Homecoming Tailgate, providing opportunities for connection, celebration, and local pride among alumni and residents alike. These events foster a strong sense of unity and give back to the Pontiac community by supporting ongoing outreach and engagement efforts.
