Sonja Garcia was born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, and graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. As a student in the school’s Graphic Arts program, she developed a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. During her senior year, she earned first place in multi-color printing on an AB Dick printing press and second place in multi-color screen printing—both honors awarded through the Michigan Industrial Education Awards.

She continued her education at Oakland Community College, earning an Associate Degree in Mental Health Social Work—an early reflection of her commitment to helping others. In 2023, Sonja earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, graduating Cum Laude from Southern New Hampshire University.

Sonja is a dedicated Human Resources professional with over 18 years of experience supporting diverse teams across multiple states. She partners with senior leadership to develop inclusive, values-driven workplace cultures that align with organizational missions. Her areas of expertise include employee relations, Mergers and Acquisitions, training and development, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. She is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

Sonja brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to her work, guided by honesty, accountability, and a strong belief in service. She is also a proud mother of two adult daughters and grandmother to two grandchildren.
